I am excited to feature Family Health Center! March marked their 20th year in business!

Owner Susan Wallner, along with her mother Lorena Butts and brother David Butts, purchased Long’s Health Center from the previous owners in 2005 and changed the name to Family Health Center. They were originally located in downtown Sycamore. After 3 years in that location, they grew their customer base so much that they needed more space. They moved the shop to the spot they’re at now on DeKalb Ave. The shop is bright, inviting and Susan, who runs the day-to-day operations along with her staff, knows every customer by name when they walk in the door! Susan is a CNHP (Certified Natural Health Professional) and is continually learning more alternative health options for her customers. She is not corporate, so she can offer products that she has invested time and energy researching to offer only the best supplements!

Susan said that she has always had an interest in health and fitness, so when the original business came up for sale, she felt called to purchase it. She knew that being an entrepreneur was always in her blood, she thought she might own a coffee shop, but here she is 20 years later as a successful business owner of health services!

Did you know that the Family Health Center is more than just vitamins and supplements? They also offer Ionic Foot Detox, infrared saunas, ear candling and hyperbaric oxygen chamber services…. In house! They also have a specialist who comes in from out of state to do other specialty services that you can’t get anywhere else around here!

All the products that are offered at the Family Health Center are clean, certified organic, 3rd party tested and the absolute best quality they can offer. Susan says that “Small changes can make a big change” and that you can start slowly on your health journey. She and her staff are here to help!
